Because of that scratch the Blu-ray skips a scene completely and I've been thinking if I should or shouldn't. I am aware that disc clean machines can either make a disc better or erase the data off them so that's why I'm asking. Considering Blu-rays have more protection than a DVD is it safe to do it? |

It depends on the depth of the scratch since the data layer is closer to the surface of the disc. The protective layer is only 0.1mm thick so if the scratch is deeper than that then the data layer may have been compromised.
http://www.blu-raydisc.com/en/aboutb.../bdvs.dvd.aspx Before you pay for a service try washing the disc with detergent, then try using toothpaste (paste not gel) or a rubbing compound on the scratch, rewash and dry the disc, then try playing the disc to see if the problem still exists. |
