![]() ![]() http://expo.nikkeibp.co.jp/tgs/2014/en/ The show will be for the Professionals the first two days (9/18 - 9/19) and then open to the public on the last two. The weird thing in 2014 is that SCEJ will have their traditional press conference more than 2 weeks -ahead- of the TGS this year, on September 1st (8/31/14 at 11pm PST for US west coast). Youtube stream: Ustream: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/sceja-...erence-english http://www.jp.playstation.com/conference/2014/ http://www.destructoid.com/sony-s-pr...d-279850.phtml Quote:
I think the explanation is a little bit more down to Earth actually. Just 3 days later (September 4th), the Xbox One will launch in Japan, and Phil Spencer has already said that although Micorsoft will indeed be present at the TGS, they will not have a presser there. So it makes sense that if Sony has anything in reserve specifically to help the PS4 on the Japanese market (where it hasn't been doing well at all so far), they would want to do so -ahead- of the launch of their biggest (international) rival. This being said, I do not think that too many people expect the Xbox One to fare that well on the Japanese market either (for reference, it's launching with two bundles, Kinect being the main differentiator, but neither being marketed at a price under the PS4). ![]() About the anouncements on the Sony side, it seems that they still have more games to announce. http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/08/...2014-says-boss Quote:
Is The Last Guardian going to be even teased? Shuhei Yoshida said No (even if they always protest that the game is still indeed in development) ... But who knows? ![]() So far, we also know that Sony (probably in a bid to entice Japanese Indie devs to come) in a very cool move has deicded to entirely sponsor the Indie corner of the TGS this year, footing the bill (around $1000 per exhibitor) for every dev booth, regardless of the platform they develop on. Last year 41 exhibitors were at TGS in this area. http://www.polygon.com/2014/5/28/575...game-area-free [Show spoiler]
