Wonder what the difference is?
Right now, the packaging pics look identical on Yesasia between this and the First Pressing.

the booklet will be missing most likely. i got a few of these "plain" edition releases of other movies. some are missing the slipcovers if you order late , and most have no booklets.

but i dont really care since i will put the disc in my own boxset with the HK and US cut. Probably gonna use the Korean slipcover for that box

i wouldnt hold back with ordering for a long time ! these may be plain editions but some of these did sell out before in days.

From the description, it looks like the booklet is no longer included. Not exactly a deal breaker... I don't know about you folks, but I almost always look through those things once (for about 5 seconds) then ignore them.

I did a little A/B'ing of "The Grandmaster" last night. I might be mistaken, but my impression was that the U.S. copy has had some of the grain taken out (after WKW went through the trouble of putting it in). I preferred the look of the Korean disc.

Can someone list the differences between the versions, or is there a site that does that? IMDB is useless - it just kind of says that three versions exist and gives the times, but doesn't tell you how they differ.

checking this out might be interessting for you

http://www.davidbordwell.net/blog/20...-turning-back/

there is a lot of different footage in all 3 cuts. if you are a wkw fan its worth to check out all 3 versions.
its not just that there are 7 or 8 minutes missing from the international cut to the HK cut. even the shortest cut in the US has a few minutes of footage (really beautifull stuff with gong er) that isnt in the other 2 cuts.

the US release is loaded with bonus features. (CA release is the same as the U.S)

Quote:
Both the European and American versions of The Grandmaster feature a credit cookie lasting about a minute in which Ip, on a stylized staircase, leads us through a flurry of fights and then cocks an eye at the camera: “What’s your style?
and it looks like the german release has some bonus features (in english) that are not on these other 3 releases as well.

worth to mention as well: the theatrical HK/China release had a different soundtrack as well, it was changed for the HK bluray release.
