Knowing Mr Bongo it'll be bare bones and they'll issue a press release saying they'll have lots of extras in a Fellini boxed set they plan to release in the future.

It's the only one they have the rights too so hopefully extras are included but I did check and it was the fremantle edition which had the docs on the film so who knows.

Even the Fremantle edition didn't have all the extras from the Australian 2-disc DVD, but I'm really not expecting any on this.

Now £9.50 as a pre-order from amazon uk - if this transfer turns out to be similar to the well reviewed French Carlotta edition, this will be a good deal !

My working assumption with all Mr Bongo discs is that they'll be barebones.

Wildly inconsistent: when they're good, they're superb (their DVD of Dovzhenko's Earth deservedly ended up on quite a few best-of-the-year lists), but some of their others have been absolute atrocities.

So I'd definitely wait for reviews first.

I think they're the same company that used to run the world music/hip-hop record shop on Poland Street in Soho.

This arrived with me on Monday but I only just managed to pick it up (I get my stuff delivered to work and I've not been in). It is indeed barebones as expected, but I'll give it a watch tonight/tomorrow and update the thread with what I think of the quality.

Great news, this is actually a very good transfer! Colours all look perfect and the picture has great depth. The darker sequences are very dark, but have plenty of clarity (and much more visible than on my old DVD). For the price (less than a tenner on Amazon) I'm really happy with this. It's a shame there are no extras, but it made for a great viewing experience.

Don't bother with the barebones Bongo tat dumped on the UK: get the French Carlotta edition instead which is both cheaper and much better, both as a transfer and a complete package stuffed with extras.
