I'm curious to see what the "and more" will be. At least maybe we'll finally get the stunning trailer set to the Wojciech Kilar piece.
The video of the Tribeca post-screening Q&A is appreciated, it would have been amazing to be there. The only extra on any previous BD or DVD release has been that Shoah Foundation doc, there have never been any extras associated with the film itself included before, which seems a shame to me. |

Disappointed to see more and more of Spielberg's home video releases eschewing their films' original poster art that's been around for as long as the movies themselves.
I really don't want this to happen to Jaws on its 50th Anniversary. |

It was Spielberg's decision that there should not be any film-making related extras for SL because he did not want the attention to be drawn from the real historical tragedy. Even the new extra comes as a surprise, the studio probably managed to convince him this time around (or does he no longer carry that much clout now?)

I went the previous year where Reservoir Dogs was that selection. And it was Tarantino and the cast not really talking about the filmmaking process, but more their memories of the release (and was a lot of fun). Last edited by xbs2034; 10-22-2018 at 03:27 PM. |

The 4K disc is a new transfer, with a new extra - Q&A with Spielberg and the cast from the 25th anniversary reunion screening in NY earlier this year. Hopefully the BD will use the same new transfer and won't be the old BD reused. That said, the old BD had a stunning transfer already.

Just FYI, the BD included in the 4K set is the exact same movie-only disc as in the 20th anniversary set. That said, it's still gorgeous, I doubt they could make the film look much better on BD.
The extras, which were on DVD 2 in that 3-disc set, are on their own standalone BD in this set, because the new 40 minute screening Q&A video is in HD. The 4K disc is a massive upgrade, as shown in the comparison caps in that thread. |

I just bought this(the blu ray not the 4k) yesterday. This was another one that I had on VHS but never had on disk.I originally was going to get the previeous Blu Ray release for the 20th anniversary back in 2013.But for some reason, and I don't remember why,I never got it.
So with this new 25th anniversary release,I decided to jump on it this time.It ports over the previous special features and adds the new ones plus it was so cheap. It felt like a no brainer this time. It's one of Spielberg's best films(some would argue it is his best film) so I'm glad I finally have it on disk. |
