Germany Fright Night Part II (1988) Tommy Lee Wallace

Fright Night Part II will be released to DVD in Germany on June 1st 2015 by 84 Entertainment
in 4 different cover-variants (3 big hardboxes, 1 small hardbox):

Cover 1-3 (Big Boxes):

[Show spoiler]

Cover 4 (Small Box):

[Show spoiler]

Aspect Ratio: 2.35:1, 16:9 anamorphic
Audio: German / English DD 2.0 (remastered)

Extras:

• US-Trailer
• US-Teaser
• German Theatrical Trailer
• Lobby Cards
• Film-Program
• Behind the Scenes-Gallery
• Japanese & German Presskit
• Regine‘s Performances
• Trailershow

According to the forum 84 Entertainment opted against a release on Blu-Ray as they state that the existing US-HD-Master
does not represent reference-material.
(Although the last word might not have been spoken regarding this as fans are begging for a release on Blu).

They state that the transfer for the DVD is pristine and it should beat all previous bootlegs - the sound is described as crystal-clear and remastered.

Cover 1 will be limited to 222 copies.
Cover 2 will be limited to 150 copies.
Cover 3 will be limited to 111 copies.
Cover 4 is no limited edition.

I actually liked this movie despite the cheese. I'm so glad it's finally get a decent master release.

Well that's an interesting and positive development, if not quite what we're looking for. At least it's progress! I'll certainly buy it if I can get hold of it, love this movie.

It's the first official release of that movie in Germany (although not via a major label). One will have to take care as well as there are numerous bootleg-editions floating aroung (with similar packaging and covers)...

I don't think it will be available via amazon.de as the edition is not rated. Don't think amazon.de carries articles that are not rated. (besides the bootlegs that are available there through 3rd-party-sellers).

Some movie dealers have it for pre-order already like bmv etc. - but they charge enormous shipping costs (to my knowledge).

So far I've seen it up at www.uncut.ch who accepts paypal and charges 8 € for international shipping (but I have no experience with that shop) - just saw that they carry only the 4 different 84-edition and no bootlegs next to it.

Other shops will follow for sure. It has only been announced yesterday.

Interesting German Rating history. The German Theatrical (and VHS) version was always cut and rated 16. German TV stations aired the 16 version, and a uncensored (R-Rated) version that was never submitted to the German Movie Rating Board FSK.
Hopefully they'll do a Blu-ray after all. If not than I'm fine with the DVD.

What about region encoding here? I don't have any 84 films stuff. Are they likely to go region 0 on this one?
