20th Century Fox Jumper (2008) Blu-ray 3D [Region Locked / Free]

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Jumper-Blu-r...9910679&sr=1-3

Interesting choice for a conversion. Hopefully they do a reasonable job on it as I rather enjoyed this movie.

Interesting!

This is a 20th Century Fox HE title, so guessing the conversion will be inline with i,Robot and the upcoming Predator 3D release. I'm glad to see they are picking up the pace - 1 a year seems rather slow for a process that takes 3 people 3-4 months. If I were calling the shots over there, I'd apply 9 people per film (3 on conversion, 6 artists), with multiple teams to get more movies going at once and completed with less errors, more effect - their pockets are deep enough, pretty sure...........

I never did watch Jumper, had zero interest in it much like Lionsgate's Gamer. However getting a conversion, it ups my interest level a bit and like Gamer I'll most likely nab a copy, assuming it will be 15-20.00 release.

[Show spoiler]Maybe they'll do Home Alone next lol! Don't ask me why, but I would gladly hand over my hard earned greenbacks for Home Alone 3D.

edit: Damn, Region B. I need to just bite the bullet and get a region free BR3D player.

I thought Jumper was entertaining enough. May look into getting the 3D conversion re release.....if the 3D delivers.

Does PS3 play Region B also? I think it does, but haven't tried it.

I haven't seen Jumper yet, having seen Hayden Christiansen (Spelling) in the Star Wars movies.

Yes, interesting choice for 3D. It can work if they do it right.

Maybe the slow release schedule is down to the fact that I,Robot got slagged off by all on here for being such a poor conversion!!!

We all knew that I,Robot might be borderline, and we had to expect it - afterall it was the FIRST conversion with this new technology.

I'm guessing they are working on their conversion process as well as picking which movies "could" benefit the best from such conversions?

wait and see i guess...

Cool, like Gamer I never watched this, so I'll wait and see it in 3D the first time I watch it.

[Show spoiler]That double decker London bus scene would look great coming out of the screen

The movie is a bit of a meandering mess, feeling more like the pilot for a TV show, than a full movie in its own right. However I would definitely give it another go in 3D

For all the crap Jumper got I actually enjoyed it...for the most part.

It has a short run time, briskly paced, and some really cool action sequences. Sure the acting is "meh" but I found the concpet fascinating and its a shame this didnt get a sequel.

This is actually a film (based on a book) that I'd like to see rebooted some day. With a bigger budget, better actors, and taken quite a bit more seriously. There is SO much you can do with the idea of teleporting it would make for a nifty trilogy IMO.

Now wouldn't THAT be nice! I do hope they took all criticism in from I,Robot and applied it to this conversion, and I REALLY hope they applied it to the Predator conversion coming later this year.

I was accepting of I,Robot, especially the second time around. I haven't purchased Gamer yet but I did catch the first 5 minutes and thought it looked pretty good. These catalog conversions are great, I hope they keep them up and keep on improving.

Do have to love these catalog conversion topics though, we're in the preliminary curious/happy phase right now but once that first screenshot drops, this crowd is going to split down the center like the part in my hair.

Then all the fun begins....... LOL

I did like the concept but held off because of the star. If the 3D is a step up from I Robot, and ends up in the US, I'd consider it based on your feedbacks. Thanks.

I was expecting something more, so I left the theater disappointed. I loved the concept, but in the end it just didn't do much for me.

Who decides upon what is actually converted? Did anyone actually ask for this? Seems like a really odd choice. Fox has an extensive catalogue that would probably both sell better and be better fitted for conversion purposes than this... Oh well...

After seeing Hayden in Star Wars, I held off on Jumper, but yes, the concept is something I wish I could do when I was a kid, warping around at will.

It's possible the company that paid to convert Jumper 3D had the option to convert a limited selection (with a limited budget) and this was the best suited for 3D.

Hopefully it turns out well for the 3D.

I think it is better that they convert lesser titles first. The craft isn't very good for conversions at this budget level yet.

I agree.

I emailed their PR department and in more words than probably needed, suggested they do something different like "Home Alone". Lot's of shots within the house, lots of foreground and background objects to gauge depth. If you watch the film with 3D in mind, it's actually quite the perfect storm for a conversion.

Alas though, no rock em sock em robots or lasers or bad ass action heroes or explosions, just Marve getting hit in the face with a paint can and a little kid running around acting crazy - I'm hoping they learn that the stereotypical film type (pun intended) for 3D isn't the only source for a "good" conversion, and open up to new ideas and types of films... There's a lot of success to be had with a little ambition.
