What's the cheapest price on Memories of Murder on Blu-ray? - Blu-ray Forum

Hi, all. I'm looking for the Blu-ray version of Memories of Murder, but I'm not really interested in paying over $30 for it on ebay. Are there are any other places selling it for cheaper? Or is the movie that good it's worth paying over $30? Are there no plans to release it in the U.S.? Thank you!

It's all a matter of opinion, of course, but for me MoM is worth every penny. As for coming out in the U.S. - it's a 14 year old Korean movie... so, doubtful.

It's worth it the movie is easily one of the best korean films ever.

I gave asiandb $200 for the first press. Not really bragging but who else am I gonna tell lol. Well worth 30 bucks.

The extras are not English-friendly. But the PQ is really good. It's not available on yesasia or kimchidvd right now, it would seem. I don't know where else to check. $30 is probably as good a price as you're going to find it for. I think it's definitely worth the price, for this movie. This and Castaway on the Moon are my two favourite Korean movies and my two favourite Asian imports.

I think it's a popular enough movie, I wouldn't be surprised if it got a domestic release eventually. But who knows... I haven't heard any rumours. I'm glad I bought the Korean release.

Remember reading some reviews of True Detective, and a reviewer mentioned Memories of Murder. Sounds like a film my family and I would "enjoy," despite the subject matter...looks like I'll buy a copy off of ebay, then. Thanks for the help, everyone.

Not to revive an old thread or anything, but did you end up purchasing Memories of Murder from ebay or the like? I'm looking to also get it, but I've heard problems with the different pressings and runtimes (depending on where the disc is from).

Just hoping to get some insight on which version is the best one to buy now, since the LE is well out of print. Thanks!

Sorry for the delayed response, but Amazon is selling an HD digital version for $15.

I might purchase this version, but I don't know if it has Korean dub with English subtitles.

I also never read about problems with different prints. Should you decide to purchase the physical version, you should try shifter's link.

Just went ahead and purchased it. It looks and sounds great on my Acer PC. Just make sure your monitor is HDCP compliant if you want the HD version. It only has Korean dubs with English closed caption subtitles.

Memories is drying up on ebay and not so cheap anymore! I decided to stop procrastinating and get one for $50US (including shipping).

A 4K remaster of Memories of Murder has has been screening in France since July. The blu will be released by La Rabia who did a fantastic edition of Friedkin's Sorcerer. PQ has an uptick on their version too. Obviously, the eventual French remaster release of MoM will not be English friendly.

I treasure my Memories of Murder blu and I can't wait for an announcement for a release of the remaster on disc.

You're actually using the term dub improperly . Korean is the original language of the movie. A dub would be if they went back and did an English language track over it. Not the original actors voices.

Looks like the same second pressing one from 2010. Maybe they just found more copies.

I had my defective original replaced a few months ago and had to wait months because they were out of stock and needed to repress the disc. So I think it's more a matter of it came back into stock because they made some more, not that Yesasia found a box of them in the warehouse :-).

Nowhere has released the new 4K scan yet, and that link is just the re-release.

The 4K scan of Memories of Murder will be released by La Rabbia in July, in a similar edition to their Sorcerer edition (which remains the best edition, to this day).
