Evil Toons (1992) - Now Available - Blu-ray Forum

Fred Olen Ray's "Evil Toons" is now available for purchase exclusively on Amazon for $19.99. This release is currently limited to 1000 copies as they are all signed by Fred Olen Ray himself. I'm sure there will be subsequent pressings without the signature and a slightly lower price but if you want one of the signed copies now's the time to place your order. I locked in my order a few moments ago.

I don't remember the unsigned editions ever being any cheaper. I paid $20 for my unsigned copy of Biohazard which was the same price as the signed version, if I recall correctly.

Edit: Then again, the unsigned version of Biohazard is also a limited edition, so maybe the price didn't allow because of that.

I would expect that the unsigned versions will eventually be available for around $15. I think that's what I paid for my copy of Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers a few years back.

I received mine earlier today. The transfer looks extremely good, with nice detail and rich colors. No signs of DNR or other such digital manipulation.

I'm also glad that Retromedia are now including uncompressed audio as a default on their releases.

The audio commentary appears to be new since he mentions the "Blu-ray Edition" at the beginning...but I have not listened to it in full yet. The 20th Anniversary commentary does not appear to be ported over, but this new commentary is probably similar.

All other bonus features are ported over however, and many new ones. Fred's commentary tracks are usually great though, so you might want to hang on to the old DVD for the older commentary track.

To those that received it - Hows the disc art? Someone on Facebook posted a pic of their copy and it is flaking and chipping badly.

The disc art is the same central artwork displayed on the front cover, without any film title or other text on it though...only the Retromedia logo at the bottom.

The main front/back artwork is basically identical to what's displayed on Amazon. There is no reversible artwork on this one. I can take some pix and post them later if no one else does.

No such flaking or chipping on the one I received...

No flaking here either. The PQ on this is excellent, btw. A real treat to see this film looking so good.

My copy arrived today as well. Didn't notice any defects in the disc art here either. Looking forward to watching this one soon.

Watched this one last night. It looked and sounded pretty solid and only makes me long for a Blu Ray release of Sorority House Massacre II as well. Well worth the $20 for me but your mileage will definitely vary based on your love of late 80's campyness.
