Default The future is Big Blue?

I came across this banner ad this week:

Is it just me (being a font freak) or does this ad exude IBM's corporate identity? The font matches and so does the color scheme -- white, black and blue.

IBM may not have paid anything for this campaign and may not be anti-BD but I doubt they're very pleased with this. They're not in either camp (though they contributed to AACS used on both formats).

I really wonder how the Alliance's advertising agency could make such a mistake. Did they perhaps go astray trying to come up with a look for 'Blu' when they were struck by an association with 'Big Blue'?

my ignorance on this topic may show but I don't see the tie-in to IBM...

not that you are wrong...I just don't see it, but wished I did...

As a long standing I/T guy... YES. It looks like a traditional IBM ad.

Maybe it is intentional - IBM is known as "Big Blue" in the financial world.

<edit> and I see now the OP already picked up on that - I need to stop skimming threads so fast.
