Default New Wal-Mart return/exchange policy...

Hey folks,

My apoligies if this has already been discussed. I've just returned from my local Wal-Mart here in Vacouver, BC and I have some bad news to report. Effective Nov 1st (here in Canada at least), Wal-Mart will no longer be taking returns/exchanges for any BD's without a reciept.

I just tried. I failed.

So if you had designs (like me) on taking in some of those free discs you got from the Summer Blu-ray promo you're SOL. Seems Wal-Mart has been innundated lately with new, unopened BD's and they (corperate?) were informed that people were returning items not purchased there for other product - at least this is what the lady I spoke with told me.

Shitty news I know but it was bound to happen sooner of later. At least they let me leave the store after I set off the Sensomatic at the front doors; guess BVHV doesn't de-magnetize the BD's as they leave the warehouse.

Anyways, just thought I'd share the info I gleaned this afternoon.

I hate it when people try to cheat companies and then post about it on a public forum.

Does anyone have any class anymore?

I can't say that i disagree with the new policy.

As a manager for a retail store people try to get over on certain things and it bugs the hell out of me when they try things like that.

I understand the policy. But, with the holiday coming up, it was nice before being able to get gifts for people at wal-mart and not have to worry about giving a gift that someone already had because they could return it without any worries.

Like I'm the first guy to post on the subject. This shits been happening for months now, with multiple posts regarding taking items back to Wal-Mart in exchange for other titles. I'm mearly passing along info to everyone on this forum. This, as you said, public forum.

I don't feel sorry for anyone who wants to take advantage of a great deal by trying screw the company giving the great deal. If we want companies to keep supporting Blu-ray, we need to have some ethics and stop trying to figure out ways to bugger companies that are trying to give us great deals.

Return Policy

Nothing is mentioned on this web page. But it also doesn't mention returns being made without a receipt.

I agree. There is little class left in society anymore. Last time I checked scamming a business was against the law. But I guess people think if they can get away with it might as well try it.

It's really sick if you ask me.

Well while I think exchanging movies you didn't get from there is a bit scummy the thing that blows my mind is people asking if they could do that PS3 deal Wal-Mart is doing and later on return the PS3 while keeping the free Blu-Ray's and I am like are you kidding me? lol.

God help us if anyone should damage Wal-Mart's fragile financial sturcture.

Well, I'm doing that deal, but I'm just going to re-sell it to someone for what I paid for it. And I dont think you'll be able to return it. There's always safety features that they have to prevent that from happening

and besides, wal mart is the dirtiest, most un-organized, rude staffed store I've ever been to.

Probably, yeah. Point is, you can no longer do it.

I didn't post this information to start a debate on ethics, I posted this information as just that; information.

Frankly I'm amazed at how many people there are around here that think thier shit doesn't stink.
