Default Which speakers should I get?

I am pretty tight on cash right now so these are the two surround sound systems I am looking at picking up, what one do you guys think I should get?

Sony HT DDW795 for $180 or
Samsung HT-x50 for $225?

I am leaning towards the sony because it is cheaper, but if the consensus is that the samsung is worth the extra money I will get it.

You might want to look at the Onkyo HT-SKS540 7.1 system. It can be had for $230 (with free shipping) at vanns.com. The reviews for this package are 4.5-5 stars everywhere I've looked. Can't wait to get mine in.

True....point taken. Even if it sounds great, there may be other unexpected issues that I don't foresee that these guys may be able to enlighten me about. I think I will go test them both out extensively today.

Excuse me, but the two you mention may satisfy you for a few weeks, then you will be looking for something better.
A pretty good 5.1 system is the Boston Acoustics MCS100 which can be bought online for abour $360.
It includes an 8" subwoofer a center channel and 4 surrounds. Also included is speaker wire and a subwoofer cable.
The subwoofer requires a LFE receiver output.
We recently installed this system in my daughters new home theater and she is very pleased with it.
Good luck!
