Default IKEA Dioder- Multicolor- Install

Hello all,

I'm a bit late to the party here, but I finally bought the Ikea Dioder multicolor yesterday. I'm struggling with the install.

I have the power plug in the wall, the cord running from that to the splitter box thing. The light control box is then plugged into the big input of the splitter box. I have one of the cords plugged into the small input of the splitter box, and 1 LED Light attached to that. I then closed off that LED light with the attached plastic cap.

I press the power button and nothing happens. I've tried several configurations. Putting all 4 lights together. Have 2 lights on one cord and 2 on another. Only hooking up 1 light at once. Nothing seems to work.

Is it possible I just got a "dud" from the store or am I doing something wrong? These lights run purely off electricity, right? It didn't say anything about needing batteries. For reference, I have included a link to the product I bought....
