Alrighty! A local Portland company! Aperion makes great speakers, and I'd love to hear more owner experiences with them.

Ok, what would you like to know? Other than the great customer service, when considering them you have a 30 day trial with free shipping to you and back if you don't think Aperion is for you.

Now that that's out of the way, from my experience with their latest line, they are really amazing speakers to have your audio played through. I've had them since Aug '08, I did upgrade my fronts from bookshelfs to towers and I really haven't looked back. Not to mention the finish on the black speakers are like a piano black look (they have a cherry finish too). They're very neutral sounding speakers. You can literally sit down all day listening to them with no 'speaker fatigue'. They really do bring you into what you're listening to. And I only have the 5 series. I know for certain Alabama Boy has the 6 series and he can chime in about his 6 series. I'm a truly satisfied customer when it comes to my speaker purchase. Now, upgrade-itis is a different animal.

Default Aperion set up is awesome

I have a 7.1 setup. My 6Ts sound great with HT/Music. When listening to music I usually just use my Towers with no sub. You can hear every instrument. With HT I use a sub. Everything sounds awesome when watching blu rays and hd movies. My family usually watches 2-3 movies a week. Customer service is top notch also. Great company IMO.

I love the three vertical speakers up front. A vertical center speaker performs better than an horizontal center speaker. There is a sticky thread on the topic in the speakers section.

Using those 6T's as fronts are NO joke. It's amazing what sound comes out of those speakers. I reminds me of Seth Green in The Italian Job, something about speakers and womens clothes tearing off.

Default Thanks Big Daddy and Cisco

I originally had a 6C which was no slouch...but what a diffrence having 3 matching fronts. The 6Ts sound great for HT/Music. I did not think it could get any better sound wise, but it has. That is one reason I put the ceiling mount in for the plasma so I could squeeze another Tower in there. If anyone is on the fence about matching/upgrading the center-do it. There is a lot of diffrence in the front stage. I highly recommend matching all front speakers

How's the clarity of dialouge having a 6T as a center? Or having towers as the front 3 in general? What was the main difference of having the 6T over the 6C as the center?

I know BD broke it down science wise in a sticky, I'm just curious about the user end of it.

Clarity is a whole lot better. The front stage is "seamless", kind of hard to explain. Just pans across better. Sometimes with a horizontal center I would get drown out from my L/R and not be able to hear/understand the center dialogue. I setup using Audyssey BTW, but now their is no comparison. Dialogue is excellent-twice as good as before. Go with 3 matching fronts if you can. Everything is crystal clear...I already contacted Aperion and the 6T center is staying. They said I would like the setup, they were right. I had a 30 day trial to see if I liked it better over the 6C. In fact my 6C is sold already and on the way to California. The 6Ts are rated at 91db also, that was a little better than the 6C, probably has something to do with it.

If you really want to knock your socks off, use that SPL meter Aperion gave you for buying a 5.1 system (and up) to REALLY dial in those speakers. The Audessy setup is great for getting your speaker distances down, that SPL meter will take it to another level.

Yeah I may do that again....I have tried both a few times. Right now I am pretty happy with what Audyssey set. Will take out meter though (maybe tonight) and set levels. I put the mic at the recommended 8 position setting, and I have no complaints....set everything pretty good.

Good luck.

I did the auto setup and it sounded great, but to me it was lacking. It had my crossovers all over the place. So when I went back and set the crossovers where they needed to be, then tweaked the levels accordingly. It was a big difference. I just feel the auto setup is how your system should sound versus how it needs to sound using a SPL.

It's all subjective anyways, what might sound great to me or you, might not sound as great to someone else.

Default Just set with spl

Bass has more punch...kept all x-overs where audyssey set. Set everything at 75 on the meter. Sounds good. I will keep the settings. Thanks Cisco. I'm one who either moves a speaker/furniture and changes things every so often anyway.

Just out of curiousity, and you can take your time answering this, I'm not going to rush you, but what did Audyssey put your crossovers at for your center, fronts, surrounds and the sub?

I remember mine were all out of whack, I can't remember mine off the bat, but I do know it put my 5C at 200Hz. So, after seeing that, I knew I had to SPL that thing STAT!

Default why can't I post a quick reply

Anyways Cisco it set my L/R/C @ 40, surrounds @ 60, and lfe @120. It did set all my fronts to Large but I changed them to small. I have tried the 60 and recommended THX of 80, but it sounds alright with what it set x-overs at. Distances were spot on.
