Anime Ltd are releasing a Collector's Combi Pack of Wings Of Honneamise on 24th November 2014

This is one of the first animes I saw and I'm glad it's finally getting a UK release

UK prices are beginning to trend towards following Japanese prices.

Still, at least they're upping the quality of the product to match though.

If Anime Ltd could cut out the niggling little issues that have plagued a few of their releases then they'd probably be topping the list of UK distributors.

... more likely amazon issue, which prices items independently of the company releasing something, and likes to reduce over preorder periods so early buyers feel they keep seeing savings. problem is you get a very flawed, random sudden drop for brief periods - great if you're brave enough to keep track of where your price has dropped to, and cancel late in the day if you're not happy.

I've heard a lot of good things about this film. Hopefully the price will come down before release.

So glad this is coming out.

I only have a crappy US DVD of it from ages ago (2000) and it was a terrible interlaced mess.

I missed the other Blu-Ray/DVD release in the US (2007), so looks like I'll be splashing my cash on this one

Now to track down a Jin-Roh on Blu-Ray

Price dropped quite a bit since it initial listing. Currently at £25.25. It's such a classic but I'm not convinced yet.

Only a month or so until release, have they released any box art yet?

Blood Lad is even sooner than that and I don't think there's any art for that yet either is there?

I own the US box already so I'm unsure if I'll go for this, but yeah the packaging and such will determine the outcome I feel! Surprised we haven't seen anything yet...hopefully because it looks awesome!

How does the US release look? Seems like it has some issues.

Per the review:

This is a kind of odd video presentation, windowboxed instead of letterboxed or pillarboxed. ... Aside from more expected issues like age related wear and tear, there are some slight spikes of noise in a few scattered (darker) scenes as well as a recurrent milky wash that permeates the bottom of the frame at intermittent intervals.

Good. My only interest is in getting the best possible transfer. The windowbox bothers me, but if that's as good as it gets, I'll go with it.
