Hey, I just noticed this forum.
So here's the situation...I don't collect comics. Never have and, given my other hobbies, likely never will. When I was young, I would buy and read them but never thought about saving them. But I did find a pile of them in my basement. They are mostly Archie and some odd Gold Key type stuff. I don't recall ever being into superhero comics but, for some reason, I do have a few. I found this really nice AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #98 from 1971 which I'm lead to believe has some value based on my internet research. This is a picture of my actual copy. ![]() The book has no folds and no marks on it. The corners are fairly sharp. There's very minor wear at the bottom near the spine (see it in the lower left of the picture). There's slight "warming" color to the pages (I don't know what new pages look like so I can't quantify it). If you look closely at the photo you may see some very tiny "creases" about 1/4" long near the spine (look near Spider-Man's left elbow). The staples are solidly in place. Cover is bright and clean. I know condition is everything so I'm trying to be accurate in my description. Anybody want to offer me a guess as to a real world value? I have no particular need to keep this comic although I have no particular need to sell it either. I'm just thinking that, should the opportunity arise, is there a fair price range I should be looking at so that nobody feels ripped-off? |
