PowerDVD Ultra 7.3 (3516)
Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit GeForce 8800GT 512MB 3GB RAM Core2 Duo 2.4GHz Regular Blu-rays play fine. But *any* Java based discs will not play. Just a blank screen. These discs play fine on my laptop (CyberLink software on that!) Clean install of the OS, clean program install. No matter the build. Disable, enable, etc. Been trying for MONTHS now, no idea what to do. Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated. |

You can always attempt to build the HDCookbook Java disc to see what happens when you attempt to play it. Go to the development page here and follow the instructions to build a disc image that should play in most players. If that disc plays in your other system, but not this one... then at least it confirms for sure that it's a Java issue, and if it works, then back to square one.
Also, are you running the BPCJ firmware revision on your Philips drive from here? It mentions that it fixes some Vista issues. Other than that, I'm at a loss. I've not heard of anyone having issues with ALL BD-J enabled titles within PowerDVD. |

Yeah, it's definately Java.
A good example is the Disney discs, they at first play their trailers, then it goes into Java mode to load the feature menu. PowerDVD plays the previews, then quits when it changes. The newer Fox discs are Java from the start, so they don't play at all. Dragon's Lair even crashed my machine. All of these play fine on my Vista Dell laptop. Latest firmware on the Philips. For movies, as long as it doesn't have Java menus, the BDs play great. Not sure how to do that cookbook thing, it says there are no jar files and whatnot.
