Default 7.1 audio out

I have "7.1 audio analog output" connections on my dvda1ud universal disc player and have them running to my Avpa1hd processor "ext in" but when i go into my gui menu on my disc player the 7.1 ch audio out is blacked out. Could someone shine a little light on why. Thanks

There must be some other audio settings within your BD player, to allow you to select the 7.1 analog output.

I cannot find a manual for your player online, so all I can suggest, is to have a look at the other settings within the player.

I presume you are not getting any audio over analog outputs at the moment?

That's correct, I am only getting audio over hdmi as far as i know. I have gone in to my manual on my AVP Processor and selected "ext in" which it states. But when i go into the gui on my source unit being the dvda1ud its blacked out for some reason. I will contact denon tomorrow and see if there is anyone on hand. Trouble is that everyone's away on holidays this time of year. Thanks for your interest mate.

On your Denon DVD-A1UD:

Set HDMI audio setup to mute.

This should unlock the 7.1 analog output.

I don't think you can output full audio over HDMI and analog at the same time, so setting 2ch or mute under the HDMI audio setup should work.

Not to go off topic but I think that all of the companies should still be manufacturing at least one Blu-Ray player with 7.1 Analog Audio Outputs every year.

Problem solved, had to go into my denon link menu and turn it off then i went into the Hdmi menu and went into audio settings and set it to mute, then i could go into my 7.1 channel analog and make my speaker settings for my multichannel 7.1 Analog sound. Thanks Tech for sending me in the right direction. Some of these manuals are a pain to deal with. Cheers my friend and thanks a ton. Thanks for stopping by in my gallery too mate.

Glad to hear that you solved it.

I did find the manual for your DVD-A1UD, and as you said, it isn't the easiest to follow.

Hopefully you can set up the 7.1 analog outputs without a hitch.
