USA The Golden Child (1986)

It'd be cool to have a 30th anniversary special edition release of this gem on Blu-Ray, but knowing Paramount; it'd be a barebones release with a passable 1080P AVC codec transfer. Took them forever to get off their lazy asses for Friday the 13th (Thanks to a distribution deal with Warner Bros.)

As for special features, I wouldn't mind having an audio commentary along with the original EPK, trailers & T.V. Spots and a new documentary. I loved this film since I first watched it in theaters during Christmas break of 1986 and I absolutely love the score to the film along with having a crush on Charlotte Lewis

A Blu-Ray release is long overdue.

Audio commentary from who? The director is long dead, Murphy wouldn't touch this with a pole, neither would Dance.

I like the movie, but a restrospective documentary is the best you would get. If Warner/Paramount/Universal/Whoever were to release it barebones you'd still be lucky.

One of my favorite Eddie Murphy flicks. Would upgrade it to Blu in a heartbeat.

Wow. I never knew Michael Ritchie had passed away, and nearly fifteen years ago now.

The DVD was one of the worst transfers I've seen, short of say "the mighty ducks". Even a mediocre Bluray transfer should be 5-10 times better than the DVD.

Lightbulb Yes, Golden Child - PLEASE!

As a big Eddie Murphy fan back in his earlier days, this one's definitely in the Top 10 of my (rather lengthy) Wish List. Not to mention I use to have a thing for Charlotte Lewis. Long overdue! I really hope Paramount gets around to this eventually.

Beverly Hills Cop 2, while we're at it...

The Beverly Hills Cop Trilogy is available from Amazon UK and is Region A/B. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Bever...Blu-ray/82056/

I too wouldn't mind The Golden CHild on Blu-ray. Come to think of it, Oliver Harper might have a Retrospective Review of it on his YouTube page.

Glad I remembered! I've the majority of his Retrospectives and Commentaries as MP4's grabbed from his vids via DownloadHelper. Though I need to regrab his old ones.
To me Ollie should be working in the Blu-ray industry making Special Features since lots of his are very informative.

They need to release this one - perhaps with numzie being in game of thrones they'll give it some thought.
