Default TO All aussies who love jb hifi

As a lot of aussies jb hifi is the place to go for most movies. I love the placed and worked in the dvd department for 3 years.

I for the first time was so pissed of the other day after going there! I asked a sales man since they had recieved hddvd players what has been selling better hddvd or blu ray. He said 50 -50 which is fair enough and then went on to try and sell me a hddvd player. As part of the sales speal he told me that in every country hddvd was out selling blu ray and the war is about over. he went on to try and convince me that hddvd movies were selling 4 -1 against blu ray in america!

I was pissed off because i always trusted and listened to the opions of sales man at jb and could not believe the misguided advice he was giving me to make the sale.

Anyway just venting my frustrations of a store that i have always loved shopping at!

Beyond Sad... He was probably trying to move his unselling coasters and electronic, ejectible cup holder devises.

I had a good experience at BB. I did my home work here on this site and knew there was nothing more to think about after an hour. So went in to hear what the BB floor rep would try to sell me and he did recommend (8 months ago) that I go with blu-ray. SOLD! Happy ever sense and never looked back!

Isn't that the same place where one of the main guys said they were going to start carrying HD DVD and one of the reasons was that Microsoft was going to put an HD DVD drive inside the XBOX360, just a little before Microsoft again reiterated that they aren't?

If somebody asks Toshiba this question:

Can you name even one country in the whole world where HD DVD software is selling faster than Blu-ray software?

I bet they wouldn't get an answer. I thought about asking Amir that question on the AVSForum, but figured it would probably get deleted.

Yeah your right it is the same company. I spoke to one of the managers/friends there the other week and apparently the decision to sell hddvd was due to the fact that if they didnt toshiba were no longer going to supply laptops or lcd screens to them anymore

i used to like going into jb hifi. It was like hddvd didnt exist because they didnt carry any hd dvd products and we can all shop blu in peace. But lately ever since they started carrying hd dud its like they r just another store to me. I used to go there first for my blu rays to thank them for their support but now when a new blu movie comes out that I want, i just go to the nearest store whatever it may be. Sorry jb, you can go and get a bj from the hd dvd fanboys, you lost a loyal customer. Id say at least 80 to 90% of my 66 blu rays and 7 ps3 games were bought at a jb hifi store.Their loss i suppose.

Holding retailers hostage and forsing them to sell their soul? This is the worst thing I have ever heard. Thats beyond cut-throat practices. Everyone needs to know the level of desperation they are now stooping to. Maybe put this on a new thread. See what everyone thinks....

If they really did that then it is an indication of how much Toshiba (or somebody at Toshiba) is willing to gamble, since if HD DVD goes away it isn't like the ones they pressured won't remember. Could come back to haunt them even beyond HD DVD.
