Default Led Zeppelin remasters - anyone else getting interested?

With the amazing job Classic Records did on the Zeppelin catalogue and the number of titles that have incredible original pressings, it's been hard to get excited about the Zeppelin remasters for me because I've been presuming they'll just be louder, and that we won't see source information for the vinyl, and no 5.1 mixes, etc.

Okay so there are no surround mixes which is a shame, but places like Music Direct now have their initial descriptions up and it's starting to sound promising. While it doesn't state how these were cut or whether the chain was all analogue, at least we know the vinyl was remastered from the original analogue tapes. For $24.99 compared to the $249.99 you're going to pay for a Classic 200g 33rpm sealed set, this might turn out to be a pretty joyous release campaign for vinyl fans.

Painstakingly Remastered from the Original Master Tapes by Jimmy Page and Pressed at Pallas: Expect These 180g LPs to Sound Better Than Any Prior Zeppelin Pressing

Packing Faithfully Replicates the Look of the Original LP's First Pressing

You've Never Heard These Legendary Records Like This

John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant came together in 1968 as Led Zeppelin. Over the next decade, the band would become one of the most influential, innovative and successful groups in modern music, selling more than 300 million albums worldwide. Their songs are some of the most celebrated in rock 'n' roll history that, to this day, resonate with fans young and old around the globe. Still, no matter how many times you may have listened to their music, you've never heard Led Zeppelin like this before.

Painstakingly remastered from the original master tapes by guitarist Jimmy Page, and pressed at Pallas (Europe's best plant), this 180g LP of Led Zeppelin sounds utterly amazing. Page spent years on this project with one goal in mind: Making these reissues the end-all-be-all definitive editions of his iconic band's records. He has succeeded, and then some. In addition to the reference-caliber audio, each LP features packaging that fully replicates the look of the first pressing of the original album. You won't believe how these records sound, look, and feel.
