Excellent film. Hal Ashby's run in the 70s was right up there with Altman, Scorsese, and any other figure in U.S. cinema.

Yes, I second this, although being a higher profile title, it would seem more of a candidate for a full blow restoration. Perhaps even playing something like the TCM film festival before being released on blu. Hoping, anyway.

Amen to that. I bought the LD box a few years ago, and it looks a lot nicer on a shelf than it does on a monitor. (Of course around the same time I also picked up Coming Home on LD, which I haven't even watched yet )

Very excited for this, any chance they can grab The Last Detail?

Wasn't there a rumor Criterion had this at one point? I'm probably mis-remembering. Would definitely love to have it on blu.

Because Warner Bros. hasn't gotten around to it.

Awaited this one since the label was announced; hopefully Ashby's Bound for Glory follows soon.

Glad to see the love for They Shoot Horses Don't They? Such a great film picked up a signed version of the laserdisc but I don't have a laserdisc player. Be great if they transfer that commentary.

I remember during the 1979 Oscars both "Coming Home" and "The Deer Hunter" competed against each other for the Best Picture award. "Midnight Express" was another movie in that category.
