I find these so boring. These films could have brilliant, beautiful steelbooks made of them. These ones...are not that.

those don't look finalized to me. For one, they clearly just copy-pasted existing artwork onto the cover, they're not even new renderings.

I like the concept, I tend to like the super simple artwork like these, just as much as I like the crazy intricate artwork like on Mondos, it's actually the "in between" space, like most of the mass market steelbooks, that I'm ambivalent towards.

I'm also a sucker for a coherent theme.

I agree with you on Lolita and Barry Lyndon (because a part of the artwork is missing).

Full Metal Jacket for example have always the minimal art with the helmet. In my collection are the Zavvi versions of Shining, Full Metal Jacket an A Clockwork Orange, it looks very nice with the embossed elements.

The art isn't new - at least for Eyes Wide Shut and The Shining. It was on some German blu-rays, and maybe other countries.

I'm with spectre08. Minimalist artwork can look really nice when there's some thought behind it. It's when they line up a row of floating heads and slap the title across the bottom that it starts to feel kind of generic.

Warner France had the wondeful idea of releasing 2001 earlier, with a brand new (and not great) artwork that will not match at all the other from the series. Well done Warner !

These here look boring.

(note: I own at least Full Metal Jacket + The Shining, I think I got them from zavvi?)
