Default Star Trek 4

Quote:
Chris Hemsworth will return in the next Star Trek film, according to director J.J Abrams.

And we're a little bit excited about it.

In a conversation with Access Hollywood, Abrams - who directed Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness - confirmed that Chris Hemsworth will return for the fourth film in the rebooted franchise.

The Thor and Avengers Assemble star will reprise his role as George Kirk, better known as Captain Kirk's doomed father, and is set to reunite with his son, played by Chris Pine.

Which is sure to make for some seriously good viewing.

Hemsworth won't appear in the upcoming Star Trek Beyond, which is directed by Justin Lin (although some other familiar faces will).

But does the announcement by Abrams mean he will also be back in the directing chair for the fourth instalment?

We can't wait to find out.

Star Trek Beyond is released on July 22.

Wonder if it's going to be an actual team up movie with time travel or just a long cameo type of thing.

Probably some kind of parallel dimension.

No harm, no foul. It's actually still on Page 1 of the Movies sub-forum, but buried more towards the bottom with all the activity from this weekend. It's a film I'm still looking forward to regardless of how Beyond turns out, which thankfully has positive reviews so far.

You gotta go advanced search and then search by title. Pain in the @$$ but it's the only way that works.

Do we know that for sure, or could it be that
[Show spoiler]George Kirk was trapped in the singularity that Nero came in on for so-many years
? Or,
[Show spoiler]he escaped at the last moment
. Or,
[Show spoiler]it's a clone
.

There are numerous ways to bring a character back to life. The old Star Treks pretty much went through all the different possible ways to begin with. Anything could happen.

1. Same difference
2. Makes most sense
3. Easy non-creative solution
