Hey guys, I dont suppose anyone's heard about Asda possibly going away with their film and tv section on their website? They didn't get any new blu rays or dvds on their website in weeks and now if you visit their website, http://direct.asda.com/Film-TV/AD070...sellers&sz=200 there are only 6 products.
If anyone's got any news, that would be great! |

Would not be surprised if they stopped the online sale of BD and DVD. Their online range has always been poor and focused on the big "Hollywood" new releases. Like Tesco they don't run with a wide range of titles.
The only supermarket with a good BD range was Sainsburys but they stopped a year or so ago, claiming it was uneconomic to continue and switching to downloads, although they still sell a small selection of disks in store. Its a pity that these days you are left with only Amazon and theHut group (includes Zavvi) selling online plus a limited number of more niche players. There are also the marketplace sellers on Amazon, Play, Rakuten, ebay etc. |

ASDA did have it's own entertainment site a few years ago before combining with Direct. I've been looking on their site on and off for a few weeks as they have £2 BDs come and go out of stock but I get 169 titles in my search with many OOS.

Well - scratch another place that delivered pre-orders early (would get 99% of mine on the Friday or Saturday before release).
Also good for returns (as you could do it in-store). Guess that only leaves Tesco as an on-line competitor to Amazon. Shame. ![]() |

This is like Sainsbury's Entertainment or Play.com all over again, except they didn't stock Eureka titles and have a ridiculous blow-out sale just before their demise. Shame really as they probably had the fastest free delivery of any of the online retailers.

The way Asda stock and display them instore is a total shambles as well. I don't know why they even bother.
They used to be fine. Mostly chart titles and a few discounted back catalogue ones for under a tenner. One or two always found their way into our trolley while doing a weekly shop ![]() |
