Ah so it doesn't include the commentary by Shekhar Kapur? Nevertheless, I might just order a copy. Heartening to see it getting a Blu-ray release! Hopefully the transfer is good.

I will wait a while to see if a less expensive version with a good transfer is released in the UK, possibly with some extras. TT discs are pricey.

^For this movie, the isolated score is a nice extra. But I will at least wait till the TT disc has a review. I don't expect this to have Fright Night sales

I got this blu-ray yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised. For an older catalog title, I think that this movie is never going to look better than it does on this blu-ray release. Except for the night scenes where black crush is readily apparent with loss of definition, I think the movie excels in all departments!

Hey dr_vasanth, hearing from you after a very long time, I think. Thanks for the review. Can you confirm if this BD lacks the commentary track from Shekar Kapur present on the UK DVD? If so, I think I may get the DVD first.

The blu-ray does have a Audio commentary track with Director Shekhar Kapur, running continuously through the entire length of the movie, if you choose that soundtrack stream..

That is true..subtitles are burnt-in! I don't understand Hindi very well and so I always watch Hindi movies with subtitles and hence didn't notice this anamoly until rishi had pointed it out..

I asked Twilight Time about this and the master they were provided had subtitles burnt-in. I would have preferred the option to turn subtitles off (as I understand Hindi), nonetheless it's a great release.

Oh awesome, the SAE website selling the disc does not mention it as an extra, and it was labeled as an exclusive on the Metrodome DVD. Glad it's present here

But boo to burnt-in subs

So its not from a 1st gen source...mostly likely 3rd gen...so the quality won't be as good. I will wait for FilmFour to release this in UK.
