My current budget BD player ison its way out, and I'm after a decent(ish) multi-region 3D compatible machine. This one has caught my eye as it supports All4, ITV Player and Blinkbox in the Apps, and is apparently very good on recognising how sound is configured. As I don't ike old stereo/mono films in surround mixes, I tend to listen to them through the TV in stereo rather than on the surround system. This machine will apaprentl be able to detect if the 5.1 is on or not, and output accordingly, which I also liked te sound of.
Generally the machine seems to fit my requerements, but there is one issue where I'm still having trouble finding information. Multi-angle video content playback, such as the Star Trek Original Series releases. I have an old Samsung DVD player in the bedroom, and it pops up a huge annoying on-screen grahic of a camcorder on-screen everytime there's mutli-angle content. There's no way to turn it off. My dying budget player does the same thing. Does anybody have the J5500, and know the situation wit this issue? Does it do an on-screen multi-angle graphic of some kind, and if so, is there a way to disable it? Thanks for the help ![]() |
