Germany Tutanchamun (2013) Blu-ray 3D [Region Free]

There is a listing for Tutanchamun 3D here at Blu-ray.com but I have been unable to find any user reviews. Since it seems to be from Germany I'm a bit suspicious that it might be one of those notorious machine conversions. Does anyone here know anything about this title?

Thanks

haven't seen it, but google-translating the reviews on Amazon, it would seem to be actual 3D.

5.0 out of 5 starsPure fascination in perfect 3D

I'm really excited about this awesome 3D Bluray over the famous tomb of Tutankhamun. It starts with a perfectly fitting background music that reminds a bit of Tomb Raider ;-), a speaker and a spokeswoman tell the story of the find of the grave very exciting and explain in detail the meaning of the countless treasures, based on the written tradition of the discoverer. The sarcophagi and grave supplements are incredibly vivid in 3D. More of such films - 3D on the TV screen would have prevailed long ago! For people who do not have 3D TV, the Bluray also contains an anaglyph version of the film.

Content and also the 3D images very successful. Surely does not replace the exhibition, but as a supplement or reminder only to be recommended. A star deduction - why this grottest sound?

Potential buyers should be aware - this is a collection of even more stereoscopic shots instead of a proper documentary. It is a missed opportunity.

Evaluation of the technical 3D quality with LG Bluray player and
LG screen (1920: 1080 = 1.78) with polarizer technology, diagonal = 140 cm

+ Thicknesses:
+ Aspect ratio 1.78 full screen
+ Stereoscopic photographed exhibits
+ Good staggering in the depth of the
room + good room lighting

- weaknesses: none

Conclusion: instructive walk through an impressive exhibition

5.0 out of 5 starsGreat documentary without exhibition very worth seeing!

I saw the exhibition back then in Cologne and was impressed. That only beforehand.
Today, the Blu-Ray came out. I was very curious whether the documentary will be a copy of the
exhibition, or whether she plays this great show and put it directly into the player.
I have to say, I was absolutely not disappointed! The documentary not only reproduces the exhibition, but
also adds a wealth of information on the individual treasures from the burial chamber.
There are many things explained that I did not really notice at the exhibition - because you are simply
slain by the splendor there. ;-)
What I really liked was the explanations of the murals in the tomb. Or the explanations of what the in-
To write on the sarcophagi, why three deathbeds stood in the grave, what the
statues of the gods in the tomb signify, what the ships in the grave had in mind, and, and...
Ok, much I had already experienced at the exhibition, but these detailed explanations in the documentary are
really great!
The 3D: The effects are nicely done and I like it very much. But even without 3D, the presentation of the film is
very successful!
Conclusion:
1. Those who want to go to the exhibition should first take a look at the documentary. I think with the knowledge from the documentary I would have seen
the exhibition with still completely different eyes.
2. Even without seeing the exhibition, the documentary is great. Ok, the exhibition is mentioned again and again,
but z. If, for example, you are interested in the treasures of the grave and would like an explanation of individual pieces
and do not want to hear / see the story of the discovery for the umpteenth time, this is the right place!

As an Egypt fan I was very excited that it is filmed in real 3D, and you can immerse yourself in the history of the researchers and the child king. Beautiful pictures and deep 3D. We recommend!!!!!!

Thanks very much for that great detective work, Interdimensional! It does indeed seem to be the real deal. I'll order up a copy and report back here when it arrives.

The entire film is a series of 3D stills of a Tut museum exhibition. There are slow zoom-ins (a la a Ken Burns documentary) that make it non-static. A few images of Tut's death mask approach hovering towards the viewer. Overall, the 3D is there and fairly mild, but decent enough. It's one disc with the options of viewing 3D, 2D, or anaglyph 3D (2-pair of glasses included).

that one is available cheaper as part of an Imax 3D triple pack.

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Samsu...Blu-ray/16085/

As I recall, the two other films in the pack had particularly excellent 3-D, while Secret of the Pharaohs was so-so. A conversion, I believe.
