Talking The "I can't find my (catalog) title at retail" thread

I was unable to find Robocop, Edward Scissorhands, The Fly and Twilight Zone The Movie at any of the Target, WalMart, BB and CC in two cities today, Wilmington, NC and Fayetteville, NC. What I have seen is the BB in Greenville, NC has the best selection of blu-ray titles and is a small store.

Again, I am disappointed, and I know I can purchase online, but I like to make sure I get a copy that the cover is not botched in some way... I know it's anal, but guess I will cave and order online from now on....

One of the staff at BB told me that they are getting HD DVD shipments in better than they are Blu-ray shipments. I am bothered by this....

You will probably see those titles pop up next week sometime, but I know that is no help because you want them this week. Normally if they are not listed in their ad they don't get them on the release date.

I'm a BIG Best Buy shopper here, (doing my part on the war-front there) and it seems as though they run their high def shipments about a week late. Today, they had Day after Tomorrow and Fantastic Four. Give 'em about a week and they'll have 6 to 7 of 'em. That's been my experience anyway.

Welcome to my world! Arrived at CC at 11 am. Nothing. Nothing from last Tuesday was out and nothing that was scheduled for release today. 11:15 am today: arrived at BB. They had 2 copies of The day after tomorrow of which I purchased 1 copy. Nothing else from last Tuesday's releases, nothing from today's scheduled releases. Nothing! One question. How the Hell am I going to support BD when nothing is getting released? This problem is so wide spread too. Sure... Amazon.com. , but you know, I don't live in some back water town which is 100 miles from the nearest city. This is rediculous.

It seems like the stores are hit and miss, sometimes mine has them and other times they don't get the titles in, but they always get the big titles in.

They have a better time getting them because there is a ware house full of them, no one is buying them

I only saw Surf's Up, Reign Over Me, 28 days and 28 weeks later in those stores. Could not find the other releases today. The guy at BB said some title are running about a week behind and was not sure why.

Hi,

Just remember your in the middle of our State. The distribution center is located here in Seattle. So, it gets shipped to Seattle first, then goes on a truck out to your area. Unfortunately, because of where your at, you will always have a delay.

Not that this is going to make you feel any better, but the titles are even delayed here from time to time.

For some reason it took a local BB in Indy almost a month to get the Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds BD. It's the only one in town(we have about 5-6) to even carry it in store! At work the only new release we got was 28 Weeks Later.

Default From Hell, what happened to the release?

I have been trying to buy a copy of From Hell and it's like it was not released today.

Anybody have any luck? Even the Fox site won't let you buy it.
