Wal-Mart Walmart no longer price matches Amazon.com, bestbuy.com, etc.?!?!

So I went to Walmart and decided to purchase a movie that Amazon.com had for a cheaper price. As usual, I pulled my phone to show that the listing was indeed active and in stock and sold by Amazon.com. The Walmart employee told me that they no longer price match Amazon.com and denied my request for a price-match. The Walmart Employee then asked 2 other employees standing around the electronics section to verify, and they both also said that they no longer price match Amazon.com. Since I never heard any recent news about Walmart changing their price matching policy, I decided to ask the employees working at customer service center since they "tend" to know the policy better. When asked about price matching Amazon.com, two female employees both also said they they no longer price match Amazon.com, as well as their own website (walmart.com) any longer. One of the female employees then started telling me how Walmart got scammed recently with third-party Amazon marketplace price match (the PS4 for $89.99 scam that was in the news), and have now stricter policy about price matching Amazon.com in general. I told them that this was being sold directly from Amazon and not a third-party seller, and even offered to show them the listing, but they still told me that Amazon.com was out of the question. I asked since when did this policy take into effect, and they said since this holiday season. On my way back to put the movie back into its original place, I realized that Amazon.com was price matching bestbuy.com so I decided to ask the employees again at electronics about possibly price matching bestbuy.com instead. They also said that they won't price match bestbuy.com or any online retailers anymore, and specified that they will only price match if I bring in a physical ad from other stores. Then they also told me that they price match online retailers only during holiday sales such as recent Black Friday and Christmas sales. Now this part absolutely made no sense, as I recalled the policy stating specifically that they will NOT price match during holiday season. I felt dumbfounded about their reasoning and decided not to further discuss about the issue, as they clearly did not seem to know their own stores price matching policy.

Even their own website (at the bottom) clearly lists all the websites they price match (http://corporate.walmart.com/policie...e-match-policy). Anyone else know if Walmart now has a much stricter price match policy, or do these websites listed in their price match policy still stand valid? I was flabbergasted that 5 walmart employees today told me that they will no longer price match amazon.com, or bestbuy.com. I felt like this was something that is not YMMV, but rather YMSNV (Your Mileage Should Not Vary) unless there was a recent significant change to their price match policy.
