Broken Rage is Takeshi's next movie after the samurai epic Kubi, released last year. This one looks to be a smaller affair, only 62 minutes long and will be released on Prime Video. It's set for release in 2025 but will premiere at Venice Film Festival in September. Like most of his films, Takeshi will star as well as direct.

Synopsis: Broken Rage is a two-part film from legendary director Takeshi Kitano. The first half is a gritty action film that unfolds in a dark criminal underworld revolving around a hitman and his struggle for survival when he finds himself pinned between the police and the yakuza. The second follows the same story, but transformed into comedy, a parody of the first half in its entirety, scene by scene.
