Default In Search of... - The Complete Collection - Oct. 23, 2012

TVShowsOnDVD is reporting that VEI is releasing In Search of... - The Complete Collection on DVD October 23, 2012. The set includes all 144 episodes of the 1970s documentary television series hosted by Leonard Nimoy.

I loved this show as a kid and I'm so excited it's coming out on DVD. I hope they use the original show open. That creepy synth lead always gave me goosebumps.

It's already up for pre-order on Amazon.ca.

Use to watch this show all the time. It's so dated now however after almost 40 years. I saw some of the episodes about 10 years ago and it did not age well. The info provided show it's age. Some of the things mention have long been proven or disproven....

Leonard Nimoy filmed updates for this DVD set. This show was the original Ancient Aliens of the 70's. I can't wait to get this.

Unfortunately these were just rumors. There is no new content from Leonard Nimoy.

Picked up a copy from eBay. Was looking forward to watching, and I am enjoying it (even though it's laughably bad in places) but what did VEI do?! Did they make sure they dragged the masters across the floor before encoding on a cheese grater? It's like watching YouTube uploads of off-air VHS material.

It looks like it was all done on film, so why? Laziness? Cramming 3 hours of material onto single layer discs?
