Blu-ray Samurai

I went to watch my copy of "Serial Experiments Lain" this morning, and found that the first blu-ray would not play on my Sony BDPS-360 (black screen). I tried it on my Seiki SR212S, and not only wouldn't it play, the player spit it out. Finally, I tried it on my PS3... and it DID play, but I'd prefer not to play it on that if I don't have to.
There's no visible damage to the disc (nor rust), and it did play on the Sony when I got it, so I don't know what's going on. The Sony has the latest firmware, so that's not the issue. The second blu-ray loads just fine. Are there known issues with this disc? Anyone else having any problems? I have the boxed set edition that comes with the book. Second question... does anyone know if the newer edition (without the book and DVDs) contains the exact same disc? Worse comes to worse, I could just buy that and swap out the disc, but I would want them to match. Of course, before I did that, I think I'd try to get a replacement from the company who issued it... but who's that? The disc itself says "Universal" "Ganeon Universal" AND "Funimation" on it. Thanks for any input you might have. |

I think Universal owns Geneon, and Funimation re-licensed this set for a Blu-ray release from them; that's why it has their logos on it, too. This release is definitely Funimation all the way for support, though.
