A story on the Sydney Morning Herald is giving us a detailed look at Australia, where Blu-ray is outselling HD DVD 5.6 to 1. Here's some numbers:
Stand-alone only players sold: Blu-ray: 2241 HD DVD: 609 Game consoles and add-ons: PS3: over 100,000 units sold X360 HD DVD add-on: 2461 units sold Discs sold since inception: Blu-ray: more than 102,000 HD DVD: less than 18,000 http://www.smh.com.au/news/technolog...530626138.html A very funny read -- especially the part where Paramount released the HD DVD of Transformers four weeks after the DVD, and therefore blew most of their potential sales. ![]() |
