New to Vinyl

I have been a movie nut for years as many of you know, but I also have a passion for music although slightly lesser than it is for movies. Anyway, I just got a Audio Technica turntable and hooked it up yesterday so that I could play a large stack of records that my dad recently gave me. Let me just say that I was floored. I put on Eagles - Desperado, Creedence Revival, and the Top Gun soundtrack last night and I was just blown away. I thought all of those hippies in my younger days that said vinyl sounded better than CDs were just nuts. Now, I realize I was wrong and they were right. Just wanted to share my experience and now I will be visiting thrift stores on a regular basis for new records.
