I was thinking since an HDTV has 1080 horizontal lines and since any film with, say a 2.40:1 ratio will appear with big black stripes at the top and bottom of the screen, how can the film be 1080 ? it's not using all the lines as the lines in the stripes are not used ? Therefore it you are not watching it in 1080 lines, right ?
Am I getting somewhere here ? |
