Amazon Terrifier 2 (2022) Collector's Edition [Amazon Exclusive]

According to Damien Leone's Reddit AMA Amazon is doing a Collector's Edition Blu-ray release for Terrifier 2. A release date has yet to be announced.

https://old.reddit.com/r/horror/comm...the_terrifier/

Proof that it's him (or at least someone who represents him) writing it, and not some rando who's taken his name.

Yep, same. Unless, of course, it turns out that this version also comes with the UHD disc.

Who knows, though. Maybe the CE packaging is awesome and we'll all buy more than one version. It certainly wouldn't be my first time.

I Highly doubt all the bonus content is on the Amazon exclusive and the remaining releases will have nothing. Amazon’s will probably just have a single bonus feature.

There's also a Collector's Edition already up for pre-order at Target. I wouldn't think it's the same as the Amazon version, since that's supposed to be exclusive to them, so I wonder what the difference(s) will be.

The standard is bloopers and deleted scenes for all releases. Amazon will have additional on top of that but my point was just saying it is kind of annoying with all these little changes spread over retailers like this. but I'll end up getting them all I'm sure

Watched the trailer and it looked like a pretty cheap production, but people seem to be loving this one, so it must be doing something right. I know there have been reports of people passing out and feeling sick after watching this. Hyperbole or the truth? No idea, but I'm interested.

Walmart - not even a unique embossed artwork like T1 steel got, just reused the theatrical poster and did nothing to put their mark on it. disposable imo.

Bestbuy - 4K upscale of a grindhouse style movie likely not filmed on the greatest camera? no thx

Amazon - this is obviously the main edition with the widest reach, replacing the steelbook for T1 that everyone got.

we already know the UK got a single "Making of" featurette as their only extra, and despite what djgeneral said I'm pretty sure Damien compiled a lot more extras for their mainline CE release

Not sure where everyone is finding info about special features contained on these discs but unless someone can give actual proof from either the director or packaging that one release will contain more features than the other discs or that others drop features, it seems much more likely that they will ALL three contain the same blu-ray disc with bestbuy having the exclusive additional 4K disc in their package. Walmarts blu will be in steelbook packaging and Amazon/other retailers will have regular blu-ray packaging with at best a slip, but all the blu’s inside each of these releases should have the same content. All are likely to be the “collectors edition” blu, in different packaging. Only Bestbuy, as seems to be the case more and more recently, will have an additional exclusive 4k disc, so that would obviously be the option to go with if you have a 4K setup, regardless of the grindhouse aesthetic. Again, happy to be proven wrong if someone can provide information that Walmart or Bestbuy drop or add special features available on the wide release collectors edition blu, but without more info that seems unlikely.

I saw this yesterday and my wife said you saw the throw up film? She's read the same nonsense rumors that are being spread around. Good for advertising but untrue. Don't forget this type of promoting was used way back in the 70's with films like Mark of the Devil.

As far I know, Best Buy is getting the 4K disc with standard features of deleted scene and bloopers

Amazon is getting additional special features with more behind the scenes and other TBA

Walmart is getting the standard blu disc as best buy but in regular blu quality and the steel book

this is what I last heard from those involved with production. I'll try to find out more.. they are not revealing too much since they are enjoying the theater success. Tomorrow the US streaming date will be revealed (its before halloween - but ONLY on screambox) - the actual digital purchase/stream for anyone else will be announced on Halloween. Scream box has an exclusive period for viewing outside theaters.

What makes you think it's an upscale? Even the most basic cameras used in indie filmmaking these days are 4K capable. Hell, even if they shot it on a smartphone camera (which of course they didn't), they'd probably opt for 4K.

EDIT: The DP confirmed that it was shot with the Alexa Mini, which is used for tons of movies, including big-budget Hollywood productions.

I don't think it's true, yes it is gory but it's more over the top and doesn't feel like it's meant to be taken seriously like the first... the movie had a different feel to me than the original, people were laughing this one up in the theater I saw it in... regardless if it's true or not the press gets viewers curious so it's not a bad thing I suppose

Without beating around the bush, I wrote an EPIC scene in the screenplay for Terrifier 2 that we currently do not have enough money to shoot. Without spoiling all the juicy, gory details, the scene will*involve mass casualties and the destruction of its location, BUT it is the context of the scene that truly makes it*so original.* We're aiming to create a scene so shocking and iconic that people will talk about it for years to come. Imagine if Art the Clown was in charge of the prom mayhem in Carrie...meets David Lynch...meets Maniac....just sayin'.
Please don't tell me the Clown Cafe sequence where
[Show spoiler]he shoots up a crowd with a Tommy gun and sets a few people on fire
was his truly shocking and iconic scene we'll be talking about for years to come? $50k, mass casualties, destruction of its location, can we tick all those off or no? Surely an Indie filmmaker can stretch 50k a little farther and give us 6-7 Allie deaths in one scene rather than some trivial dream sequence?

I mentioned this in another thread but it seems that Terrifier 2 is in limited release.

In Santa Clarita, Regal is only showing this in Valencia but not in the theater near me.

Given the amount of mo iney horror films make and the recent publicity is there a reason for this limited release?

I can only guess it's a small studio with no backing in distribution from a major studio so it doesn't have the juice to get a wider release.

I'm seeing it tonight. I hate going to this theater but a friend wanted to go. There are only two showing of this film too, 630 and 9:30 which seems odd as well.

After I watched the trailer for Terrifier 1 and the youtube video interview with the director and Art The Clown I decided to buy this from Amazon but it seems stock is in short supply. Estimated delivery is in November.

I placed a pre-order with Target based on the info given in this thread because it's an easy return if I like the Best Buy one better.

There is no good reason for this to be as long as it is. And the "OMG peoplepukedorpassedout" stuff is either pure hyperbole or we as a species are weaker than I thought.
