This a thread dedicated to the discussion of either movie characters & creatures that are potrayed as the bad guys that you think differently on.
I'll start: I always thought on the character Dracula & vampires in general as the a way of providing a way of advancing human features & they shouldn't be fought the should accepted because being human sucks so why not become Dracula. It's great for me because I don't like daylight & prefer night. now go forth and discuss. |

Jason Voorhees I have always rooted for him in all the films and when I heard Ronny Yu say they were going to make Jason a sympathetic character in order to get the audience on his side I thought it was a terrible idea and missed the boat completely, you see the formula for the Friday the 13th movies it seems is to give us these terrible camp counselors that break all the rules of a horror movie (sex, drugs and rock n roll) most of the people are already clamoring for more blood and a bigger body count.
If anyone needed to to be toned down it was the teens in Freddy Vs Jason. Last edited by JeffTheMovieGuy; 03-30-2014 at 11:38 AM. |

Malcolm McDowell's character in Home Alone 5
Good call on Titanic, nagysaudio. ~ And the big one: A lot of lawyers in lawyer movies, particularly lawyers in large law firms. They are literally just doing their job, and their job can be stressful so they like a drink and a smoke after work. So what? I think people are just jealous! ~ I think the movie I was most furious at in my life was probably Runaway Jury. I was 100% behind the gun company, and the lawyers defending it. By extension, I also abhorred the novel, I was 100% with the smoking company. And I'm not just some right-wing nutjob: In the novel/movie of the Rainmaker, I was rooting for the little guy, because the insurance company actually did something terrible. Whereas in the Runaway Jury, Grisham forgot to make the "big evil company" actually do something wrong, because he's so deluded he just assumes they are automatically wrong. In fact, any movie where tobacco companies/gun companies/alcohol companies are portrayed negatively annoys me. ~ I guess any movie where the leads are criminals would have this, although whether or not "lead" = "hero" is another question. |
