Default Seinfeld on Blu-ray? Some possible 08 releases, Star Wars! Matrix & more!

http://www.target.com/gp/search/ref=...%20ray&page=15

scroll down, then read the ones without pictures... possible 08 releases? Sure some have been speculated, but I had heard nothing about Seinfeld, I just got done buying the complete set, now what, I gotta get all the blu's (quality better be worth it, or I may pass)

Casablanca
Matrix Collection
Natural Born Killers
Seinfeld Season 1
The Wizard Of Oz

then

http://www.target.com/gp/search/ref=...%20ray&page=16

It shows

Star Wars episode 1-3 then IV-VI
West Wing
Friends
Batman Begins
The Lord Of The Rings Triology
V for Vendetta
Wedding Crashers
Sex and the city
Narnia
Simpsons season 1
Band Of Brothers
Rome

http://www.target.com/gp/search/ref=...%20ray&page=18

Willow?
Last of the mohicans
Fargo
THe princess Bride
Dirty Harry
the sound of music

There's some major blockbuster hits there. These are all obviously coming or I dont think Target would have them listed, and they all clear as day say "blu-ray" next to them.

I used to work at Target for a little bit last year and they do get upcoming release papers for months out in Electronics. (Street Date Releases)

These are standard placeholders pulled from Amazon.com via their "partnership" with Target. Notice that each product has an ASIN number. This is the Amazon Standard Identification Number used for item identification. Placeholders mean nothing really.

All of them will come to Blu-ray eventually, but some not as soon as you may think.

Don't expect Star Wars or Lord of the Rings in '08. Not trying to piss in your Cheerios or anything, but those are high caliber movies and the studios are going to hold out for a higher Blu-ray player install base before bringing their big-gun catalog titles to the table in order to maximize revenue. Not saying it won't happen. Just highly unlikely for those this year. All the rest are very likely to come this year.

Other than the following, I wouldn't get your hopes up for 2008 releases:

Matrix Collection
Batman Begins
V for Vendetta
Wedding Crashers
Narnia
Sex and the city (The Movie)

and possibly The princess Bride (but more likely this will push back)

It looks pretty good for an upconverted movie, bout as good as any recent release I've seen recently, but no where near Blu quality, but if you're desperate go for it.

I know Seinfeld and David probably have lucrative deals with TNT, TBS, Fox, and Hulu for syndication but we deserve this complete series remastered in 16x9 HD Blu-Ray to own forever. What the heck!!!.

I got a kick out of the title, seeing it make a big deal over titles that were released on the format years ago.

Yeah, I didn't notice the date at first and was very confused to see all those titles listed. I was thinking, most of these are already out - what's the big deal?

It looks terrible in 16:9. They're literally cropping jokes out of the show! It needs to stay 4:3 like it was always intended.

I think this is the fourth or fifth Seinfeld thread I've seen recently!

But I am looking forward to The Matrix on Blu-ray ...

On broadcast tv it looks awful I agree because it's heavily cropped to 16:9. If they did the same on blu-ray as what was done with That 70's Show - where it's presented 16:9 open matte (not cropped), then it would look fantastic. I don't know if that's an option for this show, depending on how it was shot, but it works wonderful for That 70's Show.

I'm staying with the Seinfeld DVDs. They are complete and look better than the original broadcasts.

It won't work for Seinfeld. It doesn't have the 'square' to spare ... It's not cropped on 16:9 it goes out as wide as it can.
