Official Press Release Date info

This is a big week for Xbox One! *I am pleased to share a few exciting developments as we continue our journey to deliver the best Xbox ever.

First, we hit an important milestone as we began full production of the Xbox One console recently. *The culmination of many years of listening to you, our fans, developing innovative technology, and partnering with the best game and entertainment partners in the industry has brought us to this point. *There is still a lot more work to do, but the teams are making excellent progress and are focused on launch.

Speaking of launch, we’re now in a position to share that Xbox One will be available on Nov. 22, 2013 in all 13 of our initial launch markets – Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, UK, and USA. *Many more markets will follow in 2014.

Finally, in the spirit of continuing to bring new value and excitement to Xbox, I am also pleased to confirm that the development team has increased the CPU from 1.6GHZ to 1.75GHZ, roughly a 10 percent increase in CPU performance. This is on top of the 6% increase we previously announced for the GPU. What does this mean to you the gamer? It means that the Xbox One will have that much more power for developers to make their games and entertainment really shine. We’re going to keep bringing more value to the Xbox One as we head towards launch building on some of the advancements we have already shared such as the 40 plus improvements to the Xbox One controller, advancements to help you find the perfect opponent and make the most of our online community, to the power of the cloud.

And I have to mention the games - Xbox One is proving to be the best place for games, with our exclusive games winning over 100 awards at E3, driving pre-order increases of 200% in European markets after gamers first played our blockbuster line-up at gamescom, and blowing away thousands of fans at PAX PRIME this week-end. Only on Xbox One will you find exclusive blockbusters like "Halo," "Dead Rising 3," "Ryse: Son of Rome" and "Forza Motorsport 5"; new digital content from titles like "Call of Duty: Ghosts" and "Battlefield 4" coming to Xbox One first; and the "FIFA 14" Ultimate Team experience you won’t find anywhere else.

November 22 is a special day in Xbox history – on this day, we first launched Xbox 360 in 2005.* Our next chapter begins in 79 days, when Xbox One becomes available. We built Xbox One to bring you the best games, unrivaled multiplayer and more entertainment than ever before. It’s nearly time to say “Xbox On” and open a new world of games and entertainment.

Ryse is likely the only game I would have one Day 1 and I am getting more and more skeptical of it the more I see it.

Quantum Break is my number 1 wanted Xbox One title.

My current plan is to buy WatchDogs on disc so I have something to check out while other stuff is downloading. I'll be going digital for CoD: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, Dead Rising 3, Forza 5, Killer Instinct and possibly Ryse.

Then I may sell the WatchDogs disc off and go all-digital after that.

Dead Rising is sure to please the eye no doubt. I think the gameplay will be more fluent than Ryse. From the video I seen, combat in Ryse looks like you have to time button presses at visual graphics of the actual controller buttons on screen. Also during these moments, slow motion is added. I hope there is more freedom or gameplay changes before they finalize the game. If these changes are not dealt with, the story & graphics are all it's got to enjoy.

I've been more of a GT racer than Forza. I played Horizon & the driving mechanics are no where near as realistic as GT. Hopefully this will be improved. I'm not putting too much stock into Forza 5 other then seeing my favourite cars look sweet & having photo realistic backgrounds. The rumble in the controllers LT & RT "might" make the gameplay better.

For me its the opposite. Forza has surpassed GT as far as Im concerned.

Forza feels like an arcade Racer to me, GT like driving a car.

There's definitely a place for both, and Forza is what I will miss most if I skip out on the Xbox One. It's been ages since there is a console I've skipped so I'll probably break down eventually.

To really get the most out of Forza, you have to turn off all the assists and go loco. They're doing way more behind-the-scenes modeling that matters for racing games in Forza than they are in GT. That said, Forza Horizon wasn't really the same kinda' game as the series proper, so don't judge based on that. It was definitely an attempt at a more accessible racer.

Yeah I don't believe this for a second. This sounds like pure-Forza fanatic belief. You are basically saying Forza out-GTs GT.

In reference to adding details to the cars they have, I agree. GT is more focused on real driving mechanics to allow users a more realistic driving simulator. Both games have their pro's & con's. As a gamer, you have to decide which experience you prefer.

This may be true compared to the standard cars.

But the high definition cars are ridiculously modeled. Down to quirks on the dashboard.

Forza series at this point destroys GT IMO. I'm hoping Drive club is great

It will be interesting to see how GT6 stacks up against Forza 5 knowing the Xbox One should have the advantage.

I was actually shocked when GT6 was announced because Kazunori Yamauchi is such a perfectionist. Then I realized the standard cars don't need much polishing & they account for most of GT's garage.

QB looks GREAT, but I dont know why anybody bothers to pre-order something that doesn't have a bonafide release date, ESPECIALLY given Remedy's Alan Wake development time.

QB could be YEARS off for all we know.

Just curious.
