Definitely excited for this. Love a good Korean thriller. Not seen one that's been truly great for a few years though.

Maybe. Probably not.

You should still be able to watch it through a movie streaming service when it is released though.

I'm personally more excited for this than The Handmaiden. This just looks exactly up my ally, from the rural setting, police investigation, and supernatural elements. I definitely really enjoyed the director's previous two films, and hope this is even better.

If Chan-wook Park wasn't the director of The Handmaiden I'd be saying the same.

I'm not really sure why you feel the need to choose one over the other. I'm excited for both, as well as, Train to Busan.

I'm just glad that someone is interested in something other than a remake, reboot, or sequel.

I guess I just simply made the comparison because they were two Korean films that were at Cannes. I'm really excited for both of them. I guess I just said it because most would talk about The Handmaiden over any other Korean flick, simply because of Chan Wook Park.

Hmm...okay.

Well, you should check out Train to Busan (https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...train+to+busan). It is another Korean film that premiered at Cannes.

Suit yourself. You sure do miss a lot of movies that way, though.

Yeah, I know, it's on my watch list as well along with Seoul Station, the animated prequel/companion piece.

This is coming to my local arthouse on the 24th.

I've seen well over 300 Korean language films, and this will be the first I actually get to see in theaters (not counting Snowpiercer).

Wow!

300, you say? Well, that's rather impressive.

Unfortunately, I don't think The Wailing will get a theatrical release anywhere in my city.

324 to be exact. I'm a Korean entertainment enthusiast.

I would check with any arthouse theaters you know of to see if there is a chance they will get or not.
I wish I lived in LA, as they have a CGV cinema which plays all the latest major Korean releases.

One critic said it is reminiscent of Memories of Murder, which is one of my all time favorite films. So, I don't think I could be anymore excited about this.
