Default Monsters: Dark Continent

Has anyone seen this movie?
If so, what did you think of it?

I just got this yesterday and I absolutely hated it!
It would have been better as just a War Film!

yes, I have it but, I only really liked the 3rd act to the end with the creatures. it did seem more of a war film but it was good (LOUD)sound. I really thought it was more focused of the monsters but, hey, still enjoyed it...

Rented this after hearing so many bad reviews. Regret watching it once a terrible movie. The first one was a solid film this comes off bad no where near as good.

It's pretty much this, and a boring one at that.

I loved Monsters. I saw all the disparaging reviews on this so went in with low expectations.

I loved it. It's another of those movies I see after all these unhyped negative reviews that I end up loving. As opposed to overhyped movies everyone raves about and tells me to watch that I find utter rubbish. I'm now at the point where a movie that gets ridiculous hype is a negative to me. Like Occulus, Babadook, It Follows. Hell, even The Exorcist. The Exorcist was the biggest disappointment of my movie life. It was a book I loved. I grew up with right wing religious parents and was never allowed to see it, so it was one of those films I kept hearing about from friends, seeing in movie books, but never seeing. After DVD came I finally got to see it. I fell asleep. The scene where the two priests are chanting " the power of Christ compels you" I passed out from boredom. And this was on a weekend in the afternoon. The extended version was so much better, and a better story, and more like the book. The theatrical was like "lets get to the good bits as quickly as possible".

So yes, I really liked this movie.

You watched The Exorcist on a weekend afternoon? No wonder you didn't enjoy it. Especially if you were young. You're supposed to watch it when its dark out, preferably very late while you're alone. Try it again under those conditions - see how you feel then

I agree with you on the overhyped movies. I couldn't get over how underwhelmed I was with Babadook and It Follows. I also tend to enjoy badly-reviewed films more than most people. Film quality is subjective - I always keep that in mind when I prepare myself to watch a film that's in the spotlight.
