United Kingdom Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense

Up for preorder at Amazon, with a release date of July 5. From Palm Pictures.

The US release was region-A locked so this is good news for those with no multi region capabilities.

Tempting...I only have a basic HDTV & BD player (no 5.1 sound system etc), so audio wise, I am better off listening to the CD for pure audio quality...but that didn't stop me buying the DVD (or the VHS many years ago), it's such a great show.

I think I'll snag this when the price drops a bit. Thanks for the heads up

I've never been a big Talking Heads fan, but I'll rent Stop Making Sense when it comes out on BD here. Seems like a good opportunity to get to know them better.

Blu-ray's capacity for high-resolution audio far surpasses CD, in terms of dynamic range and sample rate. I don't have 5.1 either, but to my ears the music in Soul Power is noticeably superior to CD. If you're running your BD player through your stereo, I should think the HD audio would serve you well.

Fantastic news. I'm locked in region B land, so this couldn't come soon enough.

I'm just using TV speakers...which is a shame because my Hi-Fi is semi-decent (around a grands worth of seperates, so far superior to my Panasonic LCD HDTV).

If you are new to Talking Heads, Stop Making Sense is a pretty good entry point, plenty of their classic tunes and a great all around performance. I hope you learn to love these guys.

Is £12.99 low enough? It was for me.

This disc has not been lower than $25 in the US. If it's unlocked for region A, I'm importing it. It's currently $28.99 on Amazon.

I don't know how the original was but I own the more recent version, which is remastered, and it's top notch.

The Second Sight edition is nearly three years old at this point:
