Default When Microsoft ATTACKS!

Well - I was up late as usual doing some work and trying to get things done before I went on vaca. I put in my Office 2000 Professional (Disc 2) CD to zip it up so I can install Publisher on some work machines.

Office starts up and a few seconds later I hear this loud POP. I thought the cats had done something again so I start cursing them under my breath. Then I decide to explore my CD so I can zip the files, however my CD is not explorable.

I eject it, or try and it hangs - then finally spits itself out along with wonderful shards of CD plastic! So, that's what that loud POP was. I open it up and this is what I find...

Half hour or so later I get the damn thing cleaned out and it's working ok for now. I will have to replace it as it does not stay out. It comes out, pauses, jerks and then sucks itself back in. Should not do that. It does read discs fine though.

Thank GOD I did not put it in my BD drive. Phew!
