Studio Ghibli: Princess Mononoke Steelbook (Zavvi's Exclusive) (UK)

We're excited to announce that we will be launching Zavvi Exclusive Steelbooks for Studio Ghibli classics: Princess Mononoke and Kiki's Delivery Service. (Release date and artwork TBC.)

According to Zavvi's Facebook page, Princess Mononoke and Kiki's Delivery Service are coming in steelbook form.

More details will follow.

yeah, I hated the first wave too, but they're Ghibli titles, I had to buy them. Just hope Zavvi will provide better designs for this wave.

I'm torn on whether I think they should stick to the same design as the first wave for uniformity sake, or go with something else that could potentially be better looking, but not fit with the others. I think at the very least, the spine design should match the others

As uninspiring as the first wave was, a complete collection of boring steelbooks is better than one that doesn't match. I think...

I've been collecting the slipcovers, but I think I would be willing to double dip for Princess Mononoke if the steelbook art is half as great as the film.

Isn't it possible that they release all the Ghibli movies, including those that already had steelbooks? Totoro and Ponyo etc that were released as steelbooks were not Zavvi exclusives after all, am I right?

Can't remember if they were or they weren't now tbh, although I *think* you're right.

Most likely they'll do what they've done with the Disney range - releases for those that have had a UK release, no releases for those that haven't. Hence, no Ocean Waves and Only Yesterday.

I love the disney collection, so I would be really happy if these got the same kind of treatment.

This may be one movie I am willing to buy just for the steelbook so I can put my region a blu-ray in it. Shame they even have region restrictions at all. A movie is a movie is a movie. Why can't they all just get along

You're right, Nausicaa, Totoro, Howl's and Ponyo were not Zavvi exclusive steelbooks. I bought mine from Amazon.

We'll have to wait and see if these continue the style of those 4. Personally I liked them a lot, so I hope they do all of Miyazaki's films in the same style.
