Default The Passenger 1975 Michelangelo Antonioni

Great film, the dvd isnt bad but certainly it would be nice to see this on Blu. Its a Sony property, so maybe they license it out to someone?

Any other fans out there?

Yea, I wouldn't mind this on blu ray. The film is shot beautifully and would really benefit from added detail.

Yes, agreed that The Passenger would be great to see on Blu. It's an amazing film, and to be honest the international visuals/scenery are a lot more impressive than the minimal "plot".

IIRC, the female star (the late Maria S.) also starred in the iconic & controversial Last Tango in Paris with Brando.

There's a Blu released from Spain. According to people here, it's supposedly pretty poor. I actually recommended this movie to a friend, and he purchased the Spanish Blu from Amoeba. He said it was too bad to watch.

I was just reading somewhere that the DVD actually looks far superior to that Blu-ray haha. I would love to see this on Criterion as well, people keep saying Blow-up is the one that will be coming to the collection, but I am hoping for this

Blow Up is Warner, which Criterion has a deal with. They don't have a deal with Sony.

I'm aware of that. I'm just stating that I think this is the better movie. I'd like it to be released, by any company, that would put out a proper, and perhaps loving, transfer.

To those unaware, a region-free UK Blu-ray was released a year ago.

FragnitoM is correct. Nicholson owns the rights but he licensed the film to Sony.

I think I had learned it from the sony DVD. Nicholson said it himself that he bought the rights because he was so proud of the film that it was a piece of art and didn’t want it to be in the wrong hands—or something to that effect
