I just moved and I've set up my H/T in my new apartment. One problem though - there is no sound coming from my surround speakers! In my last apartment I didn't have room for surround speakers, so I only used two front speakers and a center. I tweaked my Pioneer VSX-AH1018 to only play surround through three channels, but now I can't figure out how to go back to 5.1 surround! I've reconnected my surrounds, and I've changed the settings of my receiver from "surr (NO)" to "surr (LARGE)". When I test the channel levels there is audio coming from all of my speakers just fine, but when I watch movies or play PS4 there is only audio coming from my 3 front speakers! I've tried all the things I can think of!
I usually use "direct" and a MCACC I've manually set up for 5.1 sound. It doesn't change anything when I try out "stream direct" or "MCACC off" though. There is just no sound, except when I hear the test tones. My three front speakers are driven by an Emotiva amp while surround is plugged into the receiver - could that be a reason? I've made sure to set up my PS4 to play 5.1/7.1 through HDMI. The receiver also shows 5 little speaker indicators on the display.. ANyone have any help? I'm reading through the manual but it isn't exactly user friendly! Last edited by Nielsb90; 05-03-2015 at 11:21 AM. |
