Hate to admit that I find this mildly interesting from the trailer. Probably won't catch it in the theater, but might pick it up on blu once the price drops.

Just watched this in the theater today and surprisingly I liked it. I thought it was really entertaining. The only other found footage movie I like is chronicle and this comes a close second. And I actually liked this wayyy more than I did with blackhat and that is saying a lot.

What kind of camera or cameras did you use?

We went through a lot of tests — everything from real handicams to GoPros to iPhones to incredibly small, specialty cameras. At the end of the day, it felt like we were trying too hard. So we ended up with RED EPIC, with 4k resolution, for a higher-end theatrical delivery. They rebuilt at the camera house in a lightweight config, so the operator really just had a lens and mount in their hands, and then everything went via a fiber optic cable to a backpack. The operator could really just hold it in the palm of their hand.

I just saw on Amazon that the blu Ray comes with $10 movie cash for any movie in the theater and the coupon expires 8/31/2015.

They considered using an iPhone camera to shoot a theatrical feature? Jeez, film really is dead . How long until they start screening Joe Public productions at AMC?

I really enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Some interesting ideas which I thought were followed through well. Indeed I had an easier time believing the time travel theory than I did that the blonde girl got bullied and had trouble finding a boyfriend...

There have already been a few feature films shot on iPhones. One called Tangerine was well received at festivals and will get released in theatres this July. I think it's great that technology is becoming more and more accessible. If Joe Public has talent and makes a great film which people like, why not ?

Project Almanac would never have been shot on film anyway. The premise is that it's a found footage film which gets shot on digital video.

I watched this movie last night and thought it was good except for the erratic camera action.

Thumbs up

Honestly this was a pleasant surprise. I thought it was really well-done with likable characters. Highly entertaining and pretty much on-par with Chronicle. After Kelly & Cal I was already a fan of Jonny Weston and he again proves to be a very charismatic young actor here. He's definitely going places.

8/10 (B+)

I thought this was pretty enjoyable as well, although 8/10 seems a bit too generous if you ask me. I'd rate it more like 6/10--mostly because it's so predictable and it kind of falls apart at the end.

One of the worst movie I've ever watched. There were so many plot holes. Everything completely defied logic, science, or common sense. If they were smart enough to make a time machine they wouldn't have been so stupid with rational thinking. I don't understand why anyone would watch it twice. The premise was super cool, but you have make the viewer believe what's being done is possible. It completely lost me.
