screens with speakers behind them?

I read along time ago that if you wanted speakers behind screen you needed a special screen. See I am running screen 2 1/2 from wall cause my 55" sits behind it with reciever/blu/ ps3. The only speaker that is 100% behind the screen will be the center, the way it looks in my mind is half the towers will be showing and hidden behind it. I am looking at the elite manual from visual apex. 135" from 12 ft to seats then sectional is about 14 ft from screen. Any ideals or can I use same old screen if push comes to shove the center can sit om floor if needed be
