United Kingdom Best of Enhanced Dimensions 3D Blu-ray (2024) [Region Free] [BD-R]

"... possibly the best 3D to ever hit our home theater..."

I couldn't resist sharing the fantastic review for "The Best of Enhanced Dimensions" 3D Blu-ray - any review that has the line "... possibly the best 3D to ever hit our home theater..." just had to be shared! 90 minutes + of NATIVE 3D content.

Even though I have Enhanced Dimensions I'll still be picking this up along with everything else I haven't got yet, it makes it so much easier getting it all in a bundle.

3-D Popout Party makes a double-dip worth it. It’s absolutely astounding. And for those who don’t have the original release of Enhanced Dimensions, this new release is even more of a must-buy, lots of treasures within!

Andrew, apologies for the wee dafty question. Why does the half res download play full screen while the full res version is letterboxed? Do you need to buy the disc to get the full screen, full res, full fat version? The squished image really saps the 3d on a 16:9 screen.

Nevertheless, I’ll echo the praise for Pop Out Party. It’s worth picking up Best of Enhanced Dimensions for this short alone. I was holding a plane and turtle in my hands while sat slack jawed on the sofa - one of the most incredible 3d experiences I’ve witnessed outside of VR and reminiscent of the old LG tech demos.

No problems - it sounds like it's a setting that's wrong on playback somewhere. It may be your device can't cope with the full width which is in effect a full 4k width image and some 1080p 3D TV's won't playback properly.

Depending on what you are using to play it, you can usually set the aspect ratio manually to display correctly - it is (in both cases) a standard 16x9 image - some content is actually letterboxed but as it's exported in 16x9 with burnt in black bars that wouldn't squash the image.

On my Zidoo I sometimes have to select 16:9 or some such setting to get certain content to playback correctly.

Hope that helps.

Strange. I have a 4k TV. Even on the Gumroad site the file plays letterboxed. It might be better to offer an over-under version as these play better on passive screens.

The Full SBS will show as letterboxed on Gumroad as it has a 32x9 aspect ratio displayed in a 16x9 container.

O/U isn't as widely supported as SBS so for simplicity we've adhered to the most common standard.

Yeah, it's a go-to demo disc. My cousin came round yesterday and wanted to see how my projector handles 3D so I put on 3-D Pop Out Party. I hadn't seen it on the projector before and and was myself astounded by the quality, it's just basic screensaver-type animation but there's nothing better to show off sustained pop-outs you can reach out and grab.

Thanks for the comment - great to hear it's hitting the spot and is exactly what it was planned for. I only wish I could get it on more people's radar as you're one of only around 50 people who actually have bought the disc.

When the dancing robot came up my cousin commented that it was like Blade Runner, he was seriously impressed.

Nice! The swimming turtle is the favourite in this house - my daughter tried to stroke it under its chin!

I just became aware of it, so I purchased the digital version. I'm not so much into physical copies of anything anymore, although I try to participate in the kickstarters when I can.
